Description

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week travel contract covering general, outpatient, and OB ultrasound services, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.

Details

  • General ultrasound unit in a hospital setting
  • Covers both outpatient and OB ultrasound services
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • On-call required two days per week and two weekends per month
  • Floating to like units within clinical scope may be required based on facility needs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience
  • ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • New Mexico state license required; pending NM or Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) — license required if applicable
  • OB/GYN ultrasound experience required, including outpatient and general ultrasound services
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Preferred skills include a broad range of OB ultrasound competencies such as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester scanning, fetal anatomical survey, nuchal translucency screening, umbilical cord Doppler, and high-risk OB/maternal fetal medicine
  • Preferred general ultrasound skills include abdominal, pelvic, renal, small parts (breast, thyroid, testicles), and procedural support (paracentesis, thoracentesis, cyst aspiration)
  • Preferred work setting experience includes adult, pediatric, ED, obstetrics, and high-risk OB environments
  • Preferred transplant study experience includes liver, renal, pancreas, and pediatric
  • Travelers will receive a brief orientation when floating to a new unit
  • Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; no RTO will be approved during the first week of orientation

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish.
