Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring at least 1 year of experience, with day shifts and on-call weekend responsibilities.
Details
- Hospital-based Endoscopy unit covering pre-op, PACU, and procedure areas
- Performs general endoscopy procedures as well as advanced procedures including ERCP, EUS, ION, and bronchoscopy
- Experience with Van Gogh, ION, Cryo, advanced endoscopy scopes and associated equipment is utilized in this role
- Epic is the charting system used; experience preferred
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (6:45 AM–3:15 PM)
- On-call required 2 weekends per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Option to pick up 2 additional shifts per week
- Floating to like units within scope of practice may be required based on facility need, with brief orientation provided
Requirements
- Active OK or Compact RN license, valid and in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of endoscopy RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Preferred skills include: administering and monitoring conscious sedation, airway management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, recovering patients from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care, specimen handling/labeling, and post-procedure care
- Preferred procedural experience: colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, bronchoscopy, esophageal varices and banding, and sclerotherapy
- Preferred equipment experience: balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, bronchoscopy cart and supplies, lithotripters, polyp snares, and foreign body equipment
- Preferred medication administration experience: propofol, versed, opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
- Preferred experience: inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, pre/post procedure, and portable/bedside travel cases
- Preferred: charge or board running experience
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience are all preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- RTO of no more than 3 days will be approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4–6 hours for RN positions
- Charge or board running experience is preferred but not required
