Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position requiring Impella and NxStage/CRRT experience, Epic proficiency, and active LA or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:2, which may flex to 1:3
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to all ICUs and may include the ED or PACU to care for ICU patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic EMR required
• Equipment includes: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Stations, and Veratron Bladder Scanner

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience
• Impella experience required
• NxStage/CRRT experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Ability to perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and IV line starts independently
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use; must know your N95 mask size
• At least two recent manager references required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Nurses are responsible for all lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
• High volume of patients on Impella and NxStage devices
• Care may include isolation patients, including those with COVID-19
• CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for a $100 fee
• Preferred experience includes: ECMO, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, TAVR, post cardiac surgery, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, EVD management, Arctic Sun/hypothermia protocols, and neurological ICU or surgical ICU settings
• RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at a local pay rate
• Former permanent employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
