Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an outpatient Urology Clinic position requiring a urology background, catheter experience, and prior travel nursing experience.

  • Outpatient urology clinic setting
  • Patient population includes urology and renal/genitourinary cases
  • Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 6–8 patients
  • Shift: Days, 5x8 hours (8:00–17:00)
  • No on-call, weekend, floating, or block schedule requirements
  • Epic EMR experience preferred; Epic is required per facility notes

Requirements

  • Active WA or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience; candidates with at least 6 months of Med/Surg experience and catheter experience may be considered
  • Outpatient clinic experience required
  • Urology background required
  • Recent hands-on experience with catheters, including Foley catheter insertion/management and cath exchange (hard stop requirement)
  • Travel nursing experience required — seasoned travelers only
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include telephone triage, patient teaching, follow-up calls, pharmacy/refill requests, appointment scheduling, specimen collection, urinalysis/urine dipstick, medication administration (including IM), and assisting with procedures
  • Intravesicular BCG experience is preferred
  • Experience in ER, pre/post-op, day surgery/ambulatory, or home health is a plus
  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
  • Former permanent staff of this health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel nurse
  • Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (as permanent staff, traveler, or per-diem/registry) should be prepared to disclose location and dates of employment
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be communicated upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish.
