Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring strong robotics, ENT, and neuro skills with on-call responsibilities and weekend availability.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room of a large, short-term acute care Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• Schedule consists of three 8-hour shifts and one 12-hour shift per week, including call responsibilities in both NPOR and SPOR
• On-call requirements include approximately 4 weekday calls and 1 weekend call (both Saturday and Sunday) per 4-week period
• Weekend availability is required
• Specialized case experience needed in robotics (Da Vinci Xi), ENT, and neurosurgery
• Candidate must be able to independently circulate cardiac surgery cases
• Epic EMR is used for charting
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is available at an additional monthly cost to the traveler
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted, but application must be submitted prior to consideration (CT license takes 15–21 business days to issue)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required; candidates with at least 1.5 years may be considered with Level I trauma or travel experience
• Travel nursing experience is required
• Trauma center experience at a large facility is required
• Ability to independently circulate cardiac surgery cases required
• Proficiency in a broad range of OR specialties including robotics, ENT, neuro, general surgery, gynecology, plastics, urology, and trauma
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Circulate and scrub across a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-volume academic OR environment
• Strong focus on robotic-assisted surgery (Da Vinci Xi), ENT, and neurosurgical cases
• Trauma case experience required, including gunshot/stab wounds, MVA, and other multi-trauma presentations
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer can be approved; requests exceeding 7 days require additional facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Non-billable orientation modules must be completed prior to start and annually thereafter (approximately 4 hours for RNs)
