Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring Epic proficiency, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Hospital ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period)
- Floating required to IMC, PCU, and Step Down units
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Patient population includes complex, multi-system cases requiring ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, and CRRT/CVVHD
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — AHA preferred; military certs accepted; ARC not accepted
- TNCC preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and IV therapy
- Competency with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and procedural sedation
- CVVHD/CRRT experience preferred
- Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
- State-issued ID required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Pre-orientation modules average 8–12 hours and are completed prior to start date; any not finished pre-start will be completed during orientation and annually thereafter; modules are tracked in Healthstream
- RTO: no more than 5 non-consecutive days may be requested; during the holiday season (November–January), only one holiday RTO request will be considered; all RTO must be approved by management before contract signing
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a different rate
