Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a MS/Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital in Portland, OR, requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 418 staffed beds
• MS/Tele unit serving a medical-surgical and telemetry patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other units and affiliate facilities within the state is expected and required
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• No on-call required
• Parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

• Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; may submit with license pending
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Experience with heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), and vasoactive drip management (no titration)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with tracheostomy care, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with bariatric surgery patients and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, respiratory support, wound care, early mobilization, and CHG bathing
• Floating between units and to affiliate facilities across Oregon is a standard expectation; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Affiliate facilities that travelers may float to include locations in Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
• Floating to the Seaside location includes an additional hourly incentive plus IRS mileage reimbursement; a hotel may be provided for consecutive shifts at that location
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable for this unit
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Up to 6 days of RTO (or 3 consecutive days) may be approved; requests exceeding 6 days require client approval and may delay the offer
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered
• Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (as permanent staff, traveler, or registry/per-diem) must disclose the location and dates worked
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Local candidates are accepted at an adjusted rate
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
