Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience including 1 year of recent oncology specialty experience, working night shifts on a 13-week contract.
Details
- 16-bed inpatient Oncology Unit dedicated to patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Nurses specialize in the administration of chemotherapy
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating to other units and hospitals required
- EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AL state RN license or Compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
- No hits (past or current) on nursing license permitted
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in oncology or the specialty being applied for
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum
- NURSYS verification required
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

- Multidisciplinary team includes oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff
- No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
- Solid navy scrubs required
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restrictions
