Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a PA or compact RN license.
Details
- 13-week travel contract in a community hospital Labor & Delivery unit
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- On-call is required
- Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
- Floating required on an as-needed basis
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Low-risk L&D setting with fewer than 100 facility births per month
- Work settings include Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, LDRP, Mother/Baby, and Level I Nursery
- Epic EMR experience required
- May care for COVID-positive patients
Requirements
- Active PA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — no license encumbrances accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP — all must be AHA or ARC issued
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Proficiency with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line maintenance (CVC/PICC), infusion pumps, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with external fetal monitoring (EFM), IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience managing high-acuity OB conditions including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, and uterine rupture
- Experience with neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, and newborn care including hypoglycemia management and phototherapy
- Ability to assist with vaginal deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and recover C-section patients
- Experience with antepartum procedures including NST, OCT, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
Additional Information
- Candidates are subject to a clinical review to assess fit prior to manager consideration — clinical screens are conducted on a case-by-case basis, and a manager interview is required
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and will be offered a lower pay rate
- Requested time off (RTO) is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract
- Travel pairs are welcome; however, matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and typically take 5–6 hours to complete
- This is a tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility
