Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of MS experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to pass a compliance EKG exam.
Details
- Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a primarily Medical/Surgical patient population
- Patient population includes observation, respiratory, general med/surg, palliative/end-of-life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetic, and surgical patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
- Floating may be required across all facilities within the health system
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care
- Skills preferred include port access/management, central line blood draw, phlebotomy, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), and CVA management
- Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Current driver's license required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding, with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
- Unit-based orientation modules are required and average 2–4 hours
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; no RTO requests will be accepted after submission
- Third-party education verification is required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
- No open background check cases permitted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
