Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring at least one year of main hospital PACU experience and pediatric OR experience, with on-call and weekend requirements.
Details
- 8-bay PACU unit within a hospital's Surgical Services department
- Post-surgical patient population requiring close monitoring immediately after surgery
- 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- On-call required, including nights, weekends, and holidays (typically one night per week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- No block scheduling
- Floating to like or lesser acuities required as needed
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum one year of main hospital PACU experience required
- Pediatric experience in the OR required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required
- Two professional references required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and all other post-surgical needs prior to patient transport
- Team-based unit with a strong emphasis on patient satisfaction and patient safety
- Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the hiring manager
- Former employees of UNC Health should be prepared to disclose their employment history
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; any RTO submitted after consideration will not be honored (maximum 5 days, subject to manager approval)
