Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring at least one year of main hospital PACU experience and pediatric OR experience, with on-call and weekend requirements.

Details

• 8-bay PACU unit within a hospital's Surgical Services department
• Post-surgical patient population requiring close monitoring immediately after surgery
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• On-call required, including nights, weekends, and holidays (typically one night per week)
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• No block scheduling
• Floating to like or lesser acuities required as needed

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum one year of main hospital PACU experience required
• Pediatric experience in the OR required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and all other post-surgical needs prior to patient transport
• Team-based unit with a strong emphasis on patient satisfaction and patient safety
• Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the hiring manager

• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; any RTO submitted after consideration will not be honored (maximum 5 days, subject to manager approval)
