Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a minimum of 3 years of experience, including required Ortho Trauma, Craniotomy, and Trauma Level II skills, and Epic proficiency for a 13-week travel contract.
Details
- Hospital Operating Room setting
- Works in a General OR and Hybrid OR environment
- Trauma Level II work setting
- Performs a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurology, trauma, general surgery, gynecology, urology, robotics (Da Vinci Xi, Mako), plastics, vascular, bariatrics, and more
- Required surgical skills include: Ortho Trauma, Craniotomy, Trauma, and Trauma Level II cases — these are hardstop requirements
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- On-call required: 2 weeknights every 6 weeks and one weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 12-hour day or night shifts) every month and a half
Requirements
- Active RN license (OR RN) required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
- Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Hardstop skills required: Ortho Trauma, Craniotomy, Trauma, and Trauma Level II
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two professional references from supervisory positions held within the past year are required, with at least one from a manager — references cannot be pending
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; proof of permanent address required
- Full 7-year work history required, including clinical and non-clinical roles, leave periods, and schooling
Additional Information
- First-time travelers with the required 3 years of experience are welcome to apply
- Pending license acceptance is considered on a case-by-case basis
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the 13-week assignment; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Preferred skills include scrubbing in various specialties (gynecology, plastics, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, trauma, and others)
- Robotics experience preferred, including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Mako Surgical System
- Module completion is required during orientation and renewed annually
