Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a cardiac catheterization lab requiring ARRT certification and KY state license (if applicable).

Details

• Work in a cardiac cath lab setting with 2 dedicated Cath Labs plus rotation into the EP Lab
• Perform 8-10 procedures per day including 6-8 STEMI cases per month
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Schedule includes a 36/48 rotating pattern totaling 84 hours per two weeks (one week 3x12, next week 4x12)
• One rotating weekday off each week
• Call requirement of 8-15 days per month plus 1 weekend every 3 weeks
• Must respond within 30 minutes for STEMI alerts
• Call team consists of 2 RNs and 1 Rad Tech
• Float required within scope of practice
• Physicians utilize both radial and groin access approaches
• Patient ratios may vary based on staffing and census levels

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab specialty required
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• ARRT certification required
• KY state license required if applicable, active compact or state license in hand required at time of consideration
• Candidates willing to apply for KY licensure upon offer will be considered, application must be submitted the day of acceptance
• Proficiency in scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases
• Experience with devices/tools including Shockwave, Balloon Pump, Impella, EKOS, Penumbra, and ACIST injector
• Experience with device implants including Pacemakers and ICDs (single, dual, Bi-V)
• Experience with peripheral diagnostics and interventions
• Must be willing to accept the 84 hours per two weeks rotating schedule
• Copy of unexpired Driver's License required, address must match permanent address
• Copy of current certifications required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Middle name required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include table panning, scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, and assisting with a variety of cardiac devices and tools
• Cross-training in EP (ablations) is available for candidates not already experienced
• Scrubs and lead apron provided
• Orientation held bi-weekly
• Candidates must live 75+ miles from the facility, local candidates will not be considered
• Up to 7 days of RTO will be considered, must be presented upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Two professional references required, one from a Charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Travelers may only submit to one position at a time
• Traveler pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• After working one year, travelers must take a minimum 6 month break before being eligible to return
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
