Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Adult ICU (AICU) day shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and proficiency in caring for mechanically ventilated and septic patients.
Details
- Work setting is a 30-bed Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) in an inpatient hospital environment
- Patient population includes sepsis, respiratory failure, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, and psychiatric disorders
- Patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
- Equipment used includes Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, and EV1000
- EMR is Epic; Epic experience is preferred but not required
- Schedule is days, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) is required
- Floating to other inpatient areas is required when the home unit is at low census
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Experience caring for septic patients and mechanically ventilated patients with hemodynamic monitoring devices required
- Comprehensive assessment skills required
- CRRT experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- US Social Security Number required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients across a range of diagnoses including respiratory failure, sepsis, and complex medical conditions
- Orientation includes facility modules completed on the first day, Epic training if needed, and one day of on-unit orientation
- An EKG test is required as part of the hiring process; candidates are allowed two attempts, and those who do not pass may reapply after 30 days
- Scrub color is navy; hoodies and non-facility sweatshirts are not permitted
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply
- Candidates should demonstrate a team-oriented, positive, flexible, and empathetic approach to patient care
