Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU Transport position in Seattle, WA, requiring ground transport experience and Epic proficiency on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Works as a Peds/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN supporting ground transportation needs in the Seattle area
- Transports critically ill infants and pediatric patients from surrounding hospitals, ERs, and L&D/NICU units to a higher level of care facility
- May float to serve as a bedside nurse in NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics units as needed
- Works alongside a transport team that includes a Respiratory Therapist (RT) and an Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
- Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (1900–0700)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Epic EMR experience required
- NICU and PICU experience preferred; PICU transport experience preferred
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, PALS
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
- Ground transport experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Required skills include: ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, airway management, HFNC, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, ABG interpretation, chest tube management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care
- Required skills include: arterial line management, central line blood draw, IV therapy/phlebotomy, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, anti-seizure medications, pediatric dosage calculations
- Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, hypothermia protocol, hyperthermia management, isolation precautions/PPE, NG tube insertion/management, urinary catheter insertion/management
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Active RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
Additional Information
- All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Former permanent employees of a Providence facility (non-Swedish) must have been separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Former permanent employees must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates should be prepared to disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including location and dates
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
