Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a day shift position at a community hospital, with a minimum of 1 year of experience and active AHA certifications required.
Details
- Day shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- No on-call requirements
- Work settings include Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
- Preferred patient care experience includes ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
- CRT credential required; RRT preferred
- Active AHA certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- Proficiency in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
- Experience with respiratory therapy administration including ET tube, HFNC, trach collar, and oxygen therapy
- Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Proficiency with aerosol setup, nebulizer therapies, and a variety of inhaled medications
- License required if applicable
- Two supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Candidates must be prepared to complete a drug test within 12–14 calendar days prior to start and must have no prior commitments during that window
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates are not accepted
- General orientation begins on Mondays with online computer-based learning (CBLs); orientation modules average 4–5 hours and are non-billable
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
