Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at an academic Level I & II Trauma Center in St. Louis, MO, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work in a comprehensive Medical/Surgical overflow unit at a 356-bed nonprofit academic medical center in St. Louis, MO
- Unit serves patients from all disciplines, providing exposure to a wide variety of specialties and patient types
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to all care areas to care for Med/Surg patients
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting system: Epic (required)
- Skills utilized include IV therapy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, neurological/psychiatric care, CVA care, GI care, and feeding tube management
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required (hard stop)
- Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Must be clean-shaven for N95 fit testing — CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided or permitted, and no medical or religious exemptions are accepted
- Level I and II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers who have previously worked at an SSM Health facility as a traveler must take a 6-month break before returning in a travel capacity
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; additional requests after confirmation are at the manager's discretion
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed prior to the start date; RN modules may take up to 5–6 hours
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Onsite parking garage available at no cost
- Failure to be clean-shaven for fit testing may result in cancellation of the assignment
