Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience for a 13-week contract at a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital in West Virginia.
Details
- Interventional vascular radiology suite within a short-term acute care, 838-bed Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital
- Procedures include peripheral angiography/venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, neuro-intervention including acute stroke, and embolization
- Preferred experience with TAVR, adrenal angiography, IVC filter placement/removal, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, dialysis graft creation/revision, and renal artery interventions
- Daily census of 7–10 cases
- Fluoroscopy equipment in use; Siemens and ultrasound experience preferred
- Charting via Cerner (preferred)
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, typically 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- On-call rotation required, approximately 8 days per month including 1 weekend per month; every third weekend required (approximately 5–6 weekends per contract); 30-minute response time required
- Floating to a sister facility approximately 2 miles away for 1 week during the contract
- Hospital-issued blue surgical scrubs
- Free parking for travelers
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required
- ARRT (R) required; ARRT (VI) preferred; RCIS not accepted
- BLS required (AHA preferred); Vascular Intervention certification preferred
- WV State License required; may be submitted with pending license but must be active prior to start date — license required if applicable
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency with PACS, fluoroscopy, sterile technique, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Experience with EKG lead placement and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Driver's License required for consideration
- Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 60–99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of CAMC must wait 2 years from their last permanent employment date before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Current employees of Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems and affiliated facilities) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
- Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemptions with documented allergist or physician record may be considered
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration; blocked schedule requests may be accommodated within reason and will be discussed at interview
- Orientation is held every other Monday
- Non-billable compliance modules are required prior to start date, with an average completion time of 2–6 hours
