Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel assignment at an academic medical center in St. Louis, Missouri, requiring 2 years of RN experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

• Medical/Surgical unit within a 356-bed non-profit academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine
• Tertiary care setting serving the east Missouri region
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with a choice of 3x12 or 4x12 schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Float to all care areas to care for Med/Surg patients
• Epic EMR — experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg work setting experience required
• Academic teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, heparin and PCA medication management, wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, fall risk assessment, and pain management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure experience
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• All travelers are subject to facility fit testing requirements; candidates must be clean-shaven for a proper mask seal — CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided or permitted, and no medical or religious exemptions are accepted
• Travelers may not work beyond 1 continuous year at this facility; a 6-month break is required before returning as a traveler
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed prior to the first day
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Onsite parking garage available at no charge
