Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a rural, culturally diverse healthcare facility in Northwestern Arizona, requiring BLS, ACLS, and at least 2 years of OR experience.
Details
- 10-hour day shifts from 6:30am–5:00pm, 4 shifts per week
- On-call responsibilities included, with potential for emergency cases on short notice and varied/odd hours
- JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving a 4,400 square mile area, functioning as a referral center for the western Navajo and Hopi Reservations
- OR specialties include Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dental procedures
- Approximately 49% of surgeries performed are outpatient/ambulatory
- Circulating in all specialty areas is expected; scrubbing experience is highly encouraged
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico (AZ or compact license not required)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- PALS (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 6 months of hire
- CNOR certification required within 1 year of hire
- TNCC required within 2 years of hire
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing and/or OR experience required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for perioperative patient care including assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning and evaluating interventions
- Multi-disciplinary team includes surgeons across multiple specialties, nurse practitioners, CRNAs, nurse midwives, and community health staff
- Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly cycle
- COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be considered upon submission of a declination form
- Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
- This facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau, serving a diverse community including Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute tribal members
- Limited facility-provided housing may be available (shared units, based on availability); a housing application must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to start — reach out to your recruiter immediately upon acceptance
- No family members or pets permitted in facility housing
