Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift Telemetry RN for a hospital acute telemetry unit requiring ACLS certification and compact or LA RN licensure.

Details

• Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med-surg overflow patients
• Manages cardiac drips as part of unit protocols
• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state or compact) required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Educate patients and families on care needs and available resources
• Ceil blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Temp to perm opportunity may be available
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates may be considered under separate arrangement
• Previous CHRISTUS employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
