Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and an NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Float pool position covering all ICU units within a large academic medical center, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center ICUs
- May also float to stepdown units as needed
- Patient ratios are generally 1:1, with a maximum of 1:3 in stepdown assignments
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call required
Requirements
- Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient-centered care across multiple ICU settings using the nursing process
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, patient education, and discharge planning
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Background check and drug screen required prior to start; candidates should be prepared for a turnaround of at least 2 weeks for results
