Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU/Telemetry night shift position requiring 2+ years of cardiac monitoring experience and an active Alabama or compact RN license
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting with MedSurg-Telemetry patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- 13-week assignment
- Floating to MedSurg units required
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
Requirements
- Active Alabama or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Experience managing cardiac drips (titration not required)
- Experience with rapid response/code teams
- Competent in respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Charting system experience required (any system)
- Prior perm employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive cardiac and telemetry nursing care to PCU/Stepdown patients
- Must be able to work at least one holiday from Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
- Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
