Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU/Telemetry night shift position requiring 2+ years of cardiac monitoring experience and an active Alabama or compact RN license

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting with MedSurg-Telemetry patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• 13-week assignment
• Floating to MedSurg units required
• Every other weekend (EOW) required

Requirements

• Active Alabama or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience in Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience managing cardiac drips (titration not required)
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Competent in respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• Prior perm employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive cardiac and telemetry nursing care to PCU/Stepdown patients
• Must be able to work at least one holiday from Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
• Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate
