Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Echo Technologist for a Non-Invasive Cardiology unit in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of hospital experience and active ARDMS/RCS or RDCS certification.
Details
- Position is based in a Non-Invasive Cardiology (Echo) unit on the 2 South floor of an acute care hospital in San Antonio, TX
- High-volume unit performing approximately 75–80 procedures per day, mostly portable echocardiograms
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Call requirements apply; weekend expectations will be discussed during the interview
- 13-week contract
- Uses Philips IE33 and Epiq CVX equipment
- Documentation system is Meditech (experience preferred)
- Floating to other areas is required per facility policy
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of hospital-based Echo/cardiac sonography experience
- Active ARDMS certification required
- Active RCS or RDCS credential required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Ability to perform complete echocardiograms independently
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and cardiac disease processes
- Must have had active work experience within the last 6 months in this specialty
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Preferred skills include TEE, stress echocardiograms, and vascular imaging
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Dress code: sage scrub tops and black scrub bottoms
- Grooming policy requires neat, clean appearance; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited; tattoos should be covered whenever possible
- First-time travelers are not explicitly addressed in the posting
