Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• Evening shift position working 3x12-hour shifts, 3:00 PM start time
• Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified facility
• Patient population includes trauma, neurological, psychiatric, cardiac, respiratory, and pediatric cases
• Clinical skills required include triage, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, intubation, chest tube management, and ventilator care
• Every other weekend required, with potential for additional weekend shifts based on unit needs
• Floating to other units required based on facility needs
• Meditech EMR experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, MAB (CPI accepted in lieu of MAB), NIHSS, PALS; AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
• TNCC preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Experience in a combined adult/pediatric ED required
• Experience managing psychiatric patients, including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and psychiatric holds
• Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, TBI, ICP monitoring, and spinal cord injury
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Candidate must be fully committed to the assignment — cancellations may result in a do-not-return status at the facility
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• Pre-assignment online modules are required; average completion time is approximately 6 hours
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained is required for consideration
