Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a primarily Neuro IR role also covering Body/Vascular IR in an acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Acute care hospital interventional radiology setting covering both Neuro IR and Body/Vascular IR procedures
- Neuro IR procedures include cerebrals, coilings, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting
- Body/Vascular IR rooms use Canon equipment; Neuro rooms use Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos; GE ultrasound equipment used in all rooms
- Department performs approximately 20–30 cases per day depending on provider coverage
- Charting system is Epic
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- On-call rotation required with a 30-minute call-back time; currently every 3rd weekend plus 1–2 shifts per week, with possible holiday call
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IR Technologist experience
- ARRT(R) and BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in Neuro IR procedures including cerebrals, coilings, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting
- Experience covering both Neuro and Body/Vascular IR procedures
- License required if applicable
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Submission must include 2 professional references (1 supervisor, 1 peer or additional supervisor), a skills checklist completed within the past year, and copies of certifications and driver's license
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring, sterile technique preparation, continuous ECG and blood pressure monitoring, procedure documentation, and participating in on-call rotation for emergent procedures
- Candidate must be prepared to act as part of the code team, initiating resuscitative measures under physician supervision
- Radiation badge is required and must be provided prior to the assignment; the facility will not supply one
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
- Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one year cumulatively; after reaching the one-year mark, a 2-year break is required before returning
