Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Burn/Surgical ICU (rotating days and nights) position in Boston, MA, requiring an active MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

  • Burn ICU unit within a large academic hospital system in Boston, MA
  • Patient population includes adult complex surgical patients with burns, as well as acutely ill medical patients (SICU and MICU-type cases); thermal burns currently represent less than 10% of the census
  • Closed ICU model: all patients cared for by the same multidisciplinary team, including APPs, surgical teams, consultants, critical care fellows, and 24/7 in-house attending ICU physicians
  • 36-hour work week on a rotating day/night schedule
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required
  • EMR: Epic (charting experience expected)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
  • BLS certification required (AHA only; Red Cross not accepted at this location)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
  • 2 professional references required for consideration
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to a complex adult patient population in a high-acuity, closed ICU model
  • Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced rate
  • No validated parking available at this Boston location; public transportation or paid public parking ($17–$22/day) recommended
  • Time and attendance tracked via UKG/Kronos
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
