Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a 13-week assignment at a short-term acute care facility, with Epic proficiency required and experience across general, OB/GYN, vascular, and pediatric sonography strongly preferred.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level IV Trauma Center with 60 staffed beds
- Ultrasound/Sonography department covering general, OB/GYN, vascular, pediatric, small parts, and neonatal studies
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Procedures include abdominal, pelvic, transvaginal, OB (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester), fetal anatomical survey, carotid, Doppler studies, renal artery duplex, transcranial Doppler, upper and lower extremity arterial and venous studies, breast ultrasound, thyroid, testicles/scrotum, and ultrasound-guided biopsies/FNA
- Additional procedures include paracentesis, thoracentesis, and breast cyst aspiration
- Equipment includes Philips and GE ultrasound systems and PACS
- Charting via Epic (required)
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend shifts required (Friday through Sunday as regular day shifts)
- No on-call required
- No floating between units at this facility; however, travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the state
- A personal vehicle is required for this assignment
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound/sonography experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Proficiency with Philips ultrasound systems required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Baseline vascular experience required; complex vascular experience is a plus
- ARDMS AB, ARDMS OB/GYN, ARRT (S), and BLS required; license required if applicable
- OB/GYN sonography skills preferred
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
Additional Information
- Perform general, OB/GYN, vascular, pediatric, small parts, and neonatal ultrasound examinations, as well as image-guided procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and fine needle aspiration biopsies
- Outpatient imaging, biopsies, and AS reporting are also part of the role
- Scrubs of any color are accepted
- No parking fee at this facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning to a Providence facility as a traveler
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible; local candidates may be considered at a different rate
- Up to 6 days of RTO (or 3 consecutive days) may be approved; requests beyond 6 days may delay the offer process — all RTO must be disclosed upfront
- Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Refusal to float to sister facilities within the state may result in termination of assignment
