Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position at a Level II Trauma children's hospital in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of recent PICU experience and active BLS and PALS certifications.
Details
- Located within a children's hospital, Level II Trauma designation
- 15-bed PICU with a staff of 38 RNs and support personnel
- Patient ratio of 2:1
- Day shift staffing includes Intensivist, RN, Desk Tech, RT, Dietary, and Case Management; night shift includes Intensivist, RN, and RT
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour days)
- 13-week contract
- EMR: Meditech/CPN
- Equipment used: General CR monitoring
- Typical procedures include IV starts, blood draws, and TPT placements
Requirements
- Active RN license — KS state or compact license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PICU RN experience
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- CRRT experience is preferred
- APHON certification is preferred
- Pediatric teaching hospital experience is preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Ability to work well under pressure in a teaching hospital environment is a strong plus
