Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
- Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00), with the option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Complex cardiovascular patient population including post cardiac surgery (direct from OR), pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, TAVR, ECMO, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, and pulmonary artery line monitoring
- Additional patient care includes CVA/stroke management, hypothermia protocol, CVVHD/CRRT, ventilator management, and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Floating to like units within scope is expected based on facility need, with brief orientation provided on any new unit
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU or relevant ICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency in a broad range of CVICU skills including: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator and BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- ECMO experience preferred; IABP experience preferred
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
- RTO must be disclosed at the time of consideration; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation, and a maximum of 3 days of RTO may be approved
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4–6 hours for RNs
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
