Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position with prior travel experience preferred and a NM or compact RN license required.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating to like units within scope as needed, with brief orientation provided
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Skilled in blood product administration and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal and suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun)
- Experience with IABP, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath intervention, Swan Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, and TAVR care
- Experience with LVAD/RVAD management preferred
- Experience with GI surgery care preferred
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
- Experience with IV insulin protocols
- Epic charting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular and post-surgical cardiac patients
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Limited RTO auto-approval, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
