Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center, with charge experience and the ability to cover both charge and staff RN roles on night shifts.
Details
- Work setting is a 104-bed short-term acute care hospital and Level III Trauma Center
- Combined adult and pediatric general Emergency Department
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling is required
- Patient ratio is 5:1
- Epic EMR is required
- No floating between units within the facility
- Free on-site parking available
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- Charge RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in triage, IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, arterial line management, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience managing psychiatric patients, including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and psychiatric holds
- Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, TBI, and hypothermia protocol preferred
- Pediatric emergency experience preferred
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration
Additional Information
- May serve as charge RN or staff RN depending on the shift
- Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, traveler, or per-diem must disclose the location(s) and dates worked
- Former permanent Providence staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different pay rate
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
- Scrubs of any color are accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
