Description
American Traveler is hiring a first-time travel-eligible RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of ED experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work setting is a 629-bed short-term acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Teaching hospital environment
- Emergency Department unit with floating required to ED holding
- Patient ratio is 1 RN to 4 patients
- Shifts are 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:00) or days (07:00–19:00)
- Every other weekend is typically required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting is performed in Epic (required)
- Free on-site parking is available
Requirements
- Active WA state or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in triage, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, medication administration, and continuous IV sedation
- ICP monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required prior to start
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Former permanent staff of the Providence health system must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) including location and dates
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted as locals
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
- Scrub color is open for RNs (any color accepted)
