Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring mechanical circulatory support experience and an active or conditional MA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Cardiothoracic ICU of a hospital environment
- Unit cares for cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, and advanced heart failure patients
- Manages mechanical circulatory support including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and durable VAD
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Required to work every other weekend and holiday
- Floating required to other adult ICUs as needed
- Epic charting experience required
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- Contract lengths of 13, 20, or 26 weeks accepted
Requirements
- Active or conditional MA RN license (actively working toward permanent licensure required if conditional)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2.5 years of ICU experience required
- Cardiovascular ICU experience required
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a pass/fail tele test at orientation with only 1 attempt allowed
- Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiothoracic and cardiac surgery patients, including those on advanced mechanical circulatory support
- Minimal RTO desired, with a preferred length of 3-5 days and none allowed in the first week
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the standard bill rate
- Candidates residing beyond 75 miles may be eligible for the travel rate within a 200-mile radius
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates cannot be submitted if they have priors on their nursing license
