Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU travel position requiring at least 1 year of recent CVICU experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based CVICU setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Every other weekend coverage required
- 13-week contract
- Floating to other units and/or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated
- Epic EMR experience required (minimum 1 year)
Requirements
- Active RN license — SC or compact license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU experience required
- Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Required skills include: IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs, respiratory failure management, care of patient on ECMO, CABG, Impella, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, LVAD/RVAD management, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, management of dysrhythmias, CVA/acute stroke management, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and IV insulin protocols
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — candidates residing under 50 miles are ineligible
- A copy of your driver's license and Social Security Number are required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation is held every Monday
- Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; modules are completed prior to the start date and renewed annually
- Green scrubs required
- Travelers who have worked three consecutive 13-week contracts (39 weeks) with this health system must either convert to employee status or take a minimum six-month break before returning as a traveler
