Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with acute and trauma experience for a 13-week adult rehabilitation services assignment at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK.
Details
- Adult Rehabilitation Services unit in an academic medical center setting
- Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- Acute and trauma experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Acute and trauma setting experience required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and staff
- Basic computer proficiency
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating patients in areas such as independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, and psychosocial skills
- Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, including design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices
- Provide patient and family education regarding goals, progress, and home therapy plans
- Assist with discharge planning including equipment ordering and home program instruction
- May supervise OT students
- Travel candidates are preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
- After a total of 26 weeks (including extensions), candidates must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for another contract at this facility
- This facility maintains strict compliance deadlines — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
