Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL RN license and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Acute Care/Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
• Care for critically ill patients receiving multidisciplinary therapies
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• 40 hours per week across 5 shifts of 8 hours each
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Experience assisting with intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line insertion and care
• Experience working with ventilated patients for early mobility
• Epic EMR charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
• Supervise and delegate patient care tasks to nursing assistants and health care technicians (HCTs), validating task completion
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure best patient outcomes
• Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and whiteboards to ensure communication with patients and families
• Apply critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Report to Nurse Manager and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of care provided
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
