Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Unit night shift position requiring at least 3 years of med-surg experience and comfort with both adult and pediatric patient populations.
Details
- 20-bed Medical Surgical Unit (MSU) in a hospital setting serving both adult geriatric and pediatric patients
- Typical patient ratios are 4:1 (max 5:1) for non-COVID patients and 2:1 (max 3:1) for COVID patients
- Primary shift is 12-hour nights, with flexibility required for day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Schedule alternates between 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, plus up to 1 on-call shift per week
- Floating to other departments may be required based on competency, including taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties
- May be assigned to cover Flu Immunization clinics as needed in addition to inpatient duties
- Charting system not specified
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 3 years of med-surg experience required
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required
- Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients
Additional Information
- This position is open to returning travelers only
- New employee orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will result in being moved to the next scheduled orientation
- Travelers are expected to attend staff meetings
- RTOs for Thanksgiving and Christmas will not be approved
- A maximum of two shift call-offs are permitted for the duration of the contract
- 13-week contract
