Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position requiring a Compact or New Mexico RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Acute Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full time, 13-week assignment
• Weekend rotation required, 2 to 4 shifts per month
• On-call not required but may be requested if census rises
• Floating required across all Med/Surg departments within the unit
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Grey scrubs required

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or Compact state
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Graduate of an accredited RN program

Additional Information

• Coordinate and implement patient care based on age-specific needs and unit standards
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and adjust care plans accordingly
• Develop and implement individualized, measurable care plans within nursing standards
• Perform point of care testing procedures
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning
• Delegate and coordinate team assignments, following up for quality and completeness
• Serve as a resource to physicians, staff, and visitors
• Participate in orientation of new staff and students
• Maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a travel assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
