Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down role in an Emergency Department setting at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department setting in a 68-bed unit at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and regional burn center
- Telemetry and step-down level care within the ED
- Patient population includes trauma, stroke, STEMI, and burn patients; facility serves 200+ patients per day
- Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change during surge or other circumstances
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- 13–26 week contract
- No float requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Weekends required as determined by facility
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state license meeting MO eligibility requirements
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA-issued only); NIHSS certification required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of recent Tele, Step-Down, or ED experience (Level 3, Level 4, or critical access facility)
- U.S. Social Security Number required
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. for the majority of the shift; kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients of all age groups
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
- Experience with trauma and/or pediatric patients and high-acuity environments is preferred
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
- Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) is required for the November 1 – April 1 period; declinations are not accepted
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; no RTO approved in the first week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced bill rate
- Candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
- No expiring licenses or certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is already scheduled
