Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift position in a cardiopulmonary department.

Details

• Cardiopulmonary department in a hospital setting
• Night shift hours: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM on a rotating schedule (Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Active IL Respiratory Therapist License required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS
• Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate EMR systems
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and reassessments across all patient age groups and clinical conditions
• Determine and administer treatment plans in accordance with physician orders, including medication preparation and administration
• Conduct cardiopulmonary function tests such as Holter monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and lung capacity evaluations
• Monitor patients' physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry
• Maintain, calibrate, and document the condition of respiratory care equipment
• Develop and deliver patient and family education plans, including discharge planning and pain management instruction
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in both electronic and paper patient records
• Participate in performance improvement activities
• License required if applicable
