Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment at a women's hospital, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and a NM or Compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room (OR) setting within a women's hospital
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) with the option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• On-call required per 6-week schedule: approximately 3 weeknight call shifts (Mon–Thu, 5:00 PM–10:00 PM) and 2–3 twelve-hour call shifts on weekends
• Gynecological, plastics, general, orthopedic, podiatry, urology, ENT, oral, and robotic surgery cases
• Procedures include hysterectomies, laparoscopic-assisted cases, total joint replacements, mastectomy with reconstruction, Da Vinci Xi robotic surgeries, Mako robotic orthopedic surgeries, and more
• Equipment used includes Cell Saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, and Steris systems
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided on any new unit

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending NM or Compact license accepted, but must be obtained prior to start)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Scrub and circulating skills across multiple surgical specialties are expected, including gynecology, plastics, general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, ENT, and oral surgery
• Robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi and Mako systems) is a plus
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be disclosed prior to acceptance; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation, and no more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved
• Onsite orientation includes non-billable online modules (approximately 4–6 hours for RNs) completed during orientation
