Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a PA or Compact RN license, at least 2 years of experience, and availability for night or day 12-hour shifts.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a community hospital setting
• Night shift (3x12, 19:00–07:00) or day shift (3x12, 07:00–19:00) available; straight nights can be accommodated
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Patient population includes med/surg, cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, respiratory, genitourinary/renal, and endocrine/metabolic cases
• Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
• Floating within the hospital required; may also float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA-issued only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with gastrointestinal care including bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with medication administration including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Every other holiday coverage required
• Cerner experience preferred
• Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, PCA management, wound vac, and experience with mood disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury
• Preferred orthopedic experience includes peripheral nerve block catheters and total joint replacement
• Two supervisor references preferred (within the past 2 years)
• Fingerprinting and drug screen/required labs must be completed within 24–48 hours of contract signing
• Pre-start online modules must be completed before entering the facility
• All RTO requests must be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need; same schedule cannot be guaranteed
