Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a PA or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a community hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical/surgical, neurological, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, respiratory, endocrine/metabolic, and psychiatric cases
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Straight nights available
• Floating within the hospital required
• Floating to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required
• Cerner EMR — experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with gastrointestinal care including bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy management, and feeding tube care
• Experience with respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with genitourinary/renal care including CBI, peritoneal dialysis/CAPD, pre/post hemodialysis management, and renal failure
• Experience with medication administration including heparin and insulin
• Cardiac monitoring experience including dysrhythmia management and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care

• Every other holiday coverage required
• Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• All requested time off must be disclosed upfront
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24–48 hours of signing
• Approximately 1 hour of pre-start online modules required prior to entering the facility
• Travel pairs accepted based on facility need; same schedule cannot be guaranteed
