Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with a VA or compact license for a night shift assignment requiring 1:7 patient ratios and AHA BLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a community hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (18:30-7:00) on a 36/36 rotation
• Utilizes cardiac monitoring for dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Performs IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Provides respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Uses Rapid Response/Code team protocols for emergency response
• Follows isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Any EMR/charting system experience accepted

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required and must be in-hand at time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• BSN required for international travelers
• Must complete drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside standard clinical care duties
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates not accepted
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules
• Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable time and 4-5 hours of additional non-billable training modules
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
