Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift renal med/surg unit position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit specializing in renal med/surg care
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 49-room unit with an average daily census of 48
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, oxygen administration, and oral suctioning preferred
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills preferred, including central line blood draws, PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management preferred
• Medication administration experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience preferred
• Telemetry and MS/Tele experience preferred
• Pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care experience preferred
• Surgical drain management experience preferred
• Rapid response/code team experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients on a renal-focused Med/Surg unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for a full year before applying as a traveler
