Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience and active ARRT(MRI) certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Adult / Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital in Columbia, SC.
Details
- Regional community teaching medical center with 641 licensed beds, designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- MRI department serving adult acute care, adult outpatient, adult ICU, ER/Trauma, and pediatric acute care patient populations
- Competency across all age groups required, from neonate through older adult
- Imaging scope includes chest, abdomen, pelvis, head (with and without contrast), musculoskeletal (hip, knee, shoulder), and spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
- Special imaging procedures include gradient echo, spin echo, T-1 and T-2 weighted images, multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), maximum intensity projection (MIP), diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy, CINE, peripheral MR angiography, and image post-processing
- Equipment includes GE, Siemens, Philips, Toshiba, and PACS
- Epic EMR with a minimum of 1 year of experience required
- 4x10-hour day shifts, Tuesday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Floating to other units and/or campuses may be required based on census, and only to units where competencies have been demonstrated
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
- Active ARRT(MRI) certification required
- Active BLS certification required
- Active SC QRSA license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum of 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with contrast media preparation and administration, and starting peripheral IVs
- Experience with GE and/or Siemens MRI equipment
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the flagship Prisma Richland hospital to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Perform a broad range of MRI exams including body, neurological, musculoskeletal, and advanced imaging procedures with and without contrast
- Isolation precautions knowledge and adherence required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Orientation takes place every Monday
- Pre-assignment modules are required and must be completed prior to the start of the assignment
- Two professional references are required for consideration
