Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Case Manager for an evening shift hospital position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and prior charge nurse experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Case Management/Utilization Review unit
- Evening shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (5x8s)
- Case management and utilization review functions including discharge planning, needs assessments, DME ordering, and plan of care development
- Regulatory knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) applicable to this role
- Epic EMR is used and experience is required
- Travelers may be floated to any campus within the health system as needed
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Acute hospital experience required
- Experience in one or more of the following specialties required: ICU, Med/Surg, PICU, SDU, PCU, IMC, or Observation
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include discharge planning, needs assessment, ordering DME, and developing plans of care for patients
- All RNs, regardless of specialty, are required to pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam with a maximum of two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare independently in advance as study materials are not provided
- Non-billable orientation modules averaging 2–4 hours are completed during orientation; module hours are unit-based and will vary
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO will be accepted
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
