Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position at a hospital in Portland, ME, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and an active ME or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 46-bed Transitional Care / LTC-SNF unit focused on medically complex patients who are ready for discharge
- Mixed medical and surgical patient population
- Maximum patient ratio of 1:8
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating between facilities within a 25-mile radius may be required based on skillset
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Equipment includes specialty beds (Stryker, Synergy Air), Philips vital sign monitors, overhead lifts, Sara Steady, bladder scanner, hover mat, Sage mat, and more
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (ME state or Compact) required — no pending licenses accepted
- Current BLS certification required; non-AHA BLS accepted for consideration but AHA-equivalent must be obtained prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide patient-centered transitional care to a mix of medical and surgical patients nearing discharge
- Candidates who have worked at any facility within this health system within the past 12 months should disclose this when applying
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any facility in this health system (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
- Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
- RTO should be kept to a minimum — approximately 3–4 days per 13-week contract, subject to manager discretion
- Personal electronic devices including AirPods, laptops, and cell phones are prohibited on the unit
- Fragrance-free scrubs in any color are required; artificial nails, hoodies, graphic t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and unprofessional dress or grooming are not permitted
- Completion of Healthstream education modules is required
