Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position in a hospital respiratory/neuro diagnostics unit.
Details
- Inpatient hospital setting within a respiratory/neuro diagnostics unit
- Adult critical care and emergency department patient populations, including neuro patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Procedures include nebulized medication therapy (AeroEclipse, Aerobika flutter valves), chest percussion, bedside parameters (FVC/NIF) for neuro patients, V60 BiPAP, Comfort Flow heated high-flow nasal cannula systems, transport ventilators, Glidescope intubation, Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, bedside bronchoscopies, percutaneous tracheostomy, Radiometer ABL 90 Flex analyzers, nebulized Epoprostenol, and HeliOx services
- Floating is conducted in accordance with facility policy and Joint Commission standards, with appropriate orientation provided to any new unit
- Cerner charting system experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, RRT
- NRP and PALS preferred
- TN state license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Adult critical care and emergency department work setting experience required
- Skills required include ventilator management, BiPAP, CPAP, arterial punctures, drawing and interpreting ABGs, nebulizer therapy (handheld, T-piece, trach collar), oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), bronchoscopy care, and in-hospital transport
- Prior travel assignment experience required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care and neuro diagnostic patient populations
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate
- Proof of residency documentation (mortgage/lease statement and a utility bill linked to the physical residence) will be required upon offer acceptance
- All certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the assignment start date
- Former permanent staff at this facility cannot return to the same campus within 24 months; return to another campus within the same health system is permitted after 12 months
- RTO requests cannot occur within the first 14 days of the assignment start date and cannot exceed 7 days total
- Holiday RTO will not be accommodated; travelers may discuss holiday scheduling directly with the manager after arriving onsite
- Travel team members who are related or married may not work on the same unit
- Orientation modules are completed through the facility's internal system and are non-billable
