Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and TN state licensure.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) department
- Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
- Performs nebulized medication therapy including AeroEclipse and Aerobika flutter valves
- Performs chest percussion and bedside parameters (FVC/NIF) for neuro population
- Utilizes V60 BiPAP and Comfort Flow Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula systems
- Operates transport ventilators and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
- Assists with Glidescope intubation and bronchoscopy procedures, including bedside bronchoscopies
- Assists with percutaneous tracheostomy procedures
- Uses Radiometer ABL 90 Flex analyzers
- Administers nebulized Epoprostenol and HeliOx services
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- 13-week assignment length
- Floating is conducted in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience of the worker
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Adult critical care and emergency department work setting experience required
- Active RRT certification required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- TN state license required if applicable
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred
- Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
- Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Skilled in arterial punctures and drawing/interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience with nebulizer therapy including hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
- Experience with oxygen therapy and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Experience with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy patient care
- Experience with in-hospital patient transport
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care services to adult critical care and emergency department patients
- Complete orientation and annual training modules as required by the facility
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at this campus cannot return within 24 months, though they may work at another campus within the health system after 12 months
- Related or married travel team members cannot be assigned to the same unit
- Time off requests are not accommodated during major holidays or holiday weeks
- Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the assignment start date
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility
- Local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
