Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience and required travel experience for a community hospital cardiac cath lab setting.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab, with potential exposure to an EP lab
- Patient population includes adult cardiac cases, with some pediatric/neonatal diagnostic catheterizations
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Procedures include left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablator atherectomy, Watchman, permanent and temporary pacemaker insertion, ventricular assist device insertion, cardioversion, aortography, stent placement, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and hemodynamic monitoring
- Primary equipment includes fluoroscopy and GE Innova IGS; ultrasound experience is preferred
- Cerner EMR experience is preferred but not required
- 5x8 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- On-call requirement of 1 night per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and 1 weekend per month, totaling approximately 64 on-call hours per month; subject to change based on staffing needs and holidays
- Floating may be required in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- One of the following certifications required: CCI RCIS, ARRT(R)(VI), or ARRT(R)(CI); license required if applicable
- Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the assignment start date
- TN or compact licensure must be in hand at time of consideration
- Proficiency with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures required
- Skills required include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and maintaining a sterile field
- Candidate's permanent address must be greater than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
Additional Information
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule; orientation modules are completed through the facility's internal system and are not counted as billable hours
- RTO requests cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days total for the assignment
- No RTO will be accommodated during major holidays or holiday weeks, including Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's; travelers may discuss RTO with the manager after arriving onsite
- Former permanent staff of this facility cannot return to the same campus within 24 months; return to a different Covenant Health campus is permitted after 12 months
- Travelers who are related or married cannot be placed on the same unit
- Local candidates are welcome to apply but are subject to a reduced bill rate
